V oficiálním prohlášení vojenský mluvčí brigádní generál Al-Otaibi za útok vinil „íránskou agresi“ a uvedl, že kuvajtské síly zůstávají v pohotovosti.

Írán se k útoku na letiště nevyjádřil. Prohlášení Kuvajtu je prvním oficiálním potvrzením, že v rámci eskalace došlo k zásahu nějakého objektu.
CENTCOM dříve uvedl, že USA zachytily všechny útoky namířené proti Kuvajtu a Bahrajnu.
